Meeting Schedule

The Board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month, except when there is a conflicting holiday or other contingency. Committee meetings are held either monthly (Accountability, Finance, and Personnel; Family and Community Engagement; Student Achievement and School Improvement) or at the call of the committee chair (Legislation, Rules, and Policies; Strategic Planning and Budget).

The Board holds its annual Organizational meeting on the fourth Tuesday in April. Special meetings of the Board may be called by the Board President at any time.

Regular and special meetings of the full Board are livestreamed on the MPS YouTube page. They are also broadcast on the radio at 88.9 FM (WYMS) and aired live on Spectrum's channel 13 and AT&T U-verse's channel 99. Special meetings of the Board may be aired upon request of the Board President.

Public Testimony

Each meeting notice will state whether public testimony will be accepted. All speakers have two minutes and thirty seconds to speak.

Option 1: Provide comments in writing.

Option 2: Provide testimony in person.

Speaker registration slips will be available in the lobby of the Central Services building. Bring your completed slip to the Board Clerk on the stage and indicate the item on which you wish to speak. You will be called to speak during consideration of that item. Testimony will only be accepted for items on the meeting's agenda. (There is no "general comment" period.)

Option 3: Provide testimony virtually.

You must register in advance to receive your unique access link/code. Registration requests must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Note: No matter which device you use, you will not appear visually in the meeting.

Process for Joining via Phone

Call (414) 475-8200 and follow the instructions. You will receive a return phone call to confirm your registration, provide a special phone number to call for the meeting, and provide a unique entry code, which may not be shared with others.

To enter the meeting, use the phone number you registered with to call the number provided in the confirmation phone call. When prompted, enter the entry code that you were given. Individuals who access the meeting using different phone numbers or who do not enter their unique codes will not be added to the platform.

Process for Joining via Another Device

When it’s time to join, please follow the directions on our registration page. Your device must have a microphone; be sure to test your connection ahead of time.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with your unique access link to enter the meeting. To provide testimony, you must use your unique link, which may not be shared with others. Individuals who do not access the meeting via their unique links will not be added to the platform. Note: Check spam or junk folders if you do not see the confirmation email in your inbox.

Speaking Instructions for All Virtual Participants

Joining the Meeting
Enter the meeting via your unique link or entry code. You will be placed in a virtual waiting room until the meeting begins. If you can't get in immediately, try again in case the meeting starts late. Once it begins, you will be able to hear the meeting, but you will not be heard (or seen).

Note: If you experience noise interference, it is recommended that you shut down or move away from other devices that are connected to the meeting or to Wi-Fi. Ensure that you have no background noises. If Board directors and the listening audience are unable to hear you clearly due to background noise or digital interference, you may be removed from the meeting.

Giving Your Testimony
During the meeting, the Secretary will call your name to speak. Speakers must state their first and last names and spell their last names before providing testimony. Each speaker will have a total of two minutes and thirty seconds in which to speak. A timer box will be shown on the screen for those watching the meeting. The Board Clerk will vocally alert phone-in participants when they have fifteen seconds of speaking time remaining. To be fair to all speakers, the platform will remove you once your speaking time has elapsed.

Submitting Written Testimony (in case of technical difficulties)

If you are unable to access the platform or complete your testimony due to technical difficulties, you may submit it in writing instead. Both written and oral testimony will be made part of the official meeting record.

Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities
