Financial Services and Payroll
The Department of Financial Services and Payroll performs many tasks for Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), including accounting and reporting.
The department is responsible for:
- Performing accounting tasks
- School accounting and bookkeeping
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Banking
- Cash and debt management
- Trust accounting
- Fixed asset reporting
- General related obligations
- Processing grant claims
- Reconciling the district’s accounting records
- Analyzing and presenting district financial information for local, state, and federal reporting
- Preparing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
