Student Discipline

At Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), the Department of Student Discipline addresses equity and focuses on creating a positive educational climate. 

We build relationships and collaborate with students, families, and staff members to foster an environment where all students can learn and thrive.

  • 10,000+ staff members trained through Courageous Conversations About Race 
  • 300+ students attending the Student Leadership Summit each year 
  • Measurable changes during the 2024–25 school year 
    • More than 1,000 fewer behavior referrals in comparison to the previous year (2023–24)  
    • More than 500 fewer suspensions
