MPS transitions from SchoolMessenger to ParentSquare
  • News Release

The district has transitioned from SchoolMessenger to ParentSquare as our official tool for staff and family communication! It’s easier to use, helps us comply with state law, and offers quality, instant translation into most families’ preferred languages.

Here are some important things to know:

  • ParentSquare gets its family contact information from Infinite Campus (MPS’ Student Information System) – so it’s important to make sure your contact information is up to date! (Infinite Campus Parent Portal is still the place to see your child’s grades, absence information and more. You can learn more about Infinite Campus Parent Portal on our website!)
  • The information pulled in from Infinite Campus includes your preferred language. ParentSquare automatically translates messages into the preferred language you have listed in Infinite Campus.
  • You do not have to sign up or register for ParentSquare to get messages from the district or the school. Registering does allow you to view attachments, view secure information (like confidential test results from the district) and send messages to your child’s teachers or school.
  • The simplest way for families to get connected is to click the ‘view, appreciate or reply’ button on a post they receive from the district, school or teacher. That way, ParentSquare knows you’re already connected to your child’s school. Or, families can go to ParentSquare and enter the phone number MPS has on file for you.

If You Need Help

  • If you’re not receiving messages from your child’s school, check with your child’s school to make sure your contact information is correct in Infinite Campus (this is where ParentSquare gets its information from).
  • If your correct contact information is in Infinite Campus and you are not receiving messages, your child’s school should contact the MPS Technology Support Center. Technology will work together with MPS Communications to resolve issues.
  • Once you’re registered and inside the tool, ParentSquare offers extensive help articles and an online chat feature (under the ? help icon) to help with issues involving the tool itself.
