Refugee and Immigrant Resource Fair for students and families returns April 25

The 7th annual Refugee and Immigrant Resource Fair returns this year to South Division High School on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The event is for all ages, and admission to the event and parking is free. 

At the fair, Milwaukee Public Schools refugee and immigrant families can celebrate their traditions together and find information on many helpful topics, such as: 

  • Food access 
  • County and state benefits 
  • Health care 
  • Counseling 
  • Adult and child English lessons 
  • Tutoring  
  • Immigration support 
  • Enrichment programs for refugee and immigrant families 
  • School support

About 40 community agencies will be at the fair to provide information. 

Also at the fair, families will find:

  • Activities for children, which will be organized by South Division students and staff and by SEA Literacy 
  • Eight prize baskets from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, which will be awarded to families throughout the fair 
  • Music and dance performances to enjoy, by South Division and Pulaski High School students 
  • Free, gently used clothing and housewares 
  • Free prepared foods, catered from Bandung Indonesian Restaurant, for families 

“Last year, we had an excellent turnout, and feedback from all was positive,” said Risa Berg, school social worker and an organizer of the resource fair. More than 300 people attended the fair in 2025, with students and their families coming from more than 30 schools.
