Culinary Arts
Get a head start on your career with culinary arts at Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), an excellent pathway leading to employment in the hospitality industry for many students.
In Wisconsin, restaurants account for one in ten jobs. Culinary jobs are not just first jobs—they can help lead students on a career path to success, especially if young people have the right training in high school.
Culinary Arts Training in MPS
Four MPS high schools offer the culinary arts program. Students experience a hands-on curriculum featuring real-world culinary arts and food service management opportunities that help students learn skills that can last a lifetime.

The program builds on the unique strengths of each participating school:
- Bay View High School offers a NAF Academy of Hospitality and Tourism.
- James Madison Academic Campus offers both a NAF Academy of Hospitality and Tourism and a NAF Academy of Finance, which can help students better understand the business aspects of the culinary field.
- Harold S. Vincent School of Agricultural Science offers an agriculture program, which includes connections to the food and beverage industry.
- Washington High School of Information Technology offers a NAF Academy of Hospitality and Tourism.
Visit each school's website to learn more about their programs.
