Montessori Advisory Committee (MAC)

The Montessori Advisory Committee (MAC) includes parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, principals, district administrators, and community partners who want to strengthen Montessori education in Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS).

Join the Committee

We need your thoughts, ideas, and voice! Attend one of our upcoming meetings and help us improve Montessori education in Milwaukee. Be part of a committee working to make MPS a global leader in Montessori practices.

2025–26 Meetings

Join us from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the following dates:

The committee meets at MPS Central Services (5225 W. Vliet Street) in room 210–211.

History

The MAC began in early 2018 as a working group of MPS Montessori parents. It evolved over time to include school staff members, district administrators, and community partners.

In October 2018, the Milwaukee Board of School Directors passed resolution 1819R-004, formalizing the MAC and requesting a long-term Montessori Strategic Plan. In March 2019, the board unanimously approved the Montessori Strategic Plan, which is designed to protect, enhance, and expand Montessori public education within MPS.
