Turnaround Arts is a nationwide program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. The arts are integrated across all subject areas, and schools receive innovative, evidence-based programming and resources. These include:

  • Access to licensed music and musical instruments
  • Arts partnerships for academic/creative enrichment during and after school
  • Study, performance, and production opportunities at the Kennedy Center
  • Visual thinking strategies that present a weekly work of art and questions that challenge students to look closely, think critically, and confidently share responses with teachers and classmates

The program’s whole-school transformation goals include closing the achievement gap, increasing student engagement, and boosting attendance through a strategic use of the arts.
