Joanna Brooks, Entrepreneur

Alum: Rufus King International High School | Class of 2002 

Joanna Brooks owns and teaches at Embody Yoga, a yoga and Pilates studio in Glendale. 

“True success is doing what you love in service to others, no matter what your title is. I'm grateful that I learned that lesson sooner rather than later.”

Alum: Rufus King International High School | Class of 2002 

Tyrone Miller is a professional DJ known as DJ Bizzon.  

“When I look back at my time at King, I really appreciate all the different types of people I was around the whole time. And so many of them went on to create their own paths and careers, which has inspired me over the years.”

Joseph Santiago, Police Officer

Alum: South Division High School | Class of 2007

Joseph Santiago is an officer with the Village of Shorewood Police Department.

“[South Division] is filled with students from many different cultures and nationalities. Being around that diversity allowed me to learn about many different perspectives and backgrounds.”

Bridget Whitaker, Nonprofit Leader

Alum: Alexander Hamilton High School | Class of 1997

Bridget Whitaker is the executive director of Safe & Sound, a nonprofit that helps create safe and empowered neighborhoods. 

“MPS schools need our love and dedication. If we remember and reflect on the lifelong skills that have changed the trajectory of our lives, why not pay it forward?”
