Dr. Juan Baez, High School Principal

Juan Baez proudly serves as the principal of the Milwaukee School of Languages. 

“My path since graduation has taken both expected and unexpected turns. Life has taught me that growth often comes through change and discomfort, that challenges can become sources of purpose, and that enjoying the journey is just as important as your final destination.”

Joanna Brooks, Entrepreneur

Alum: Rufus King International High School | Class of 2002 

Joanna Brooks owns and teaches at Embody Yoga, a yoga and Pilates studio in Glendale. 

“True success is doing what you love in service to others, no matter what your title is. I'm grateful that I learned that lesson sooner rather than later.”

James Causey, Journalist

Alum: Milwaukee Marshall (John Marshall) High School | Class of 1987 

James Causey has written for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for more than 30 years.

“My experiences in high school played a significant role in shaping who I am today. . . . the teachers at Marshall were exceptional.”

Tyrone Miller is a professional DJ known as DJ Bizzon.  

“When I look back at my time at King, I really appreciate all the different types of people I was around the whole time. And so many of them went on to create their own paths and careers, which has inspired me over the years.”
