Alternative High Schools
Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) offers alternative high schools designed to support students who may have different learning styles or need additional resources in order to thrive and graduate.
Do you have a high school student who is not on track for graduation? Help is available!
Alternative high schools offer personalized education plans that are adapted to individual student needs. There are a variety of pathways to earn a high school diploma:
- Traditional classes
- Credit recovery via Edgenuity
- GED Option #2: Exams to earn credit
- Competency-Based Learning: Project completion to earn credit
Social and emotional learning helps students with their focus, discipline, and responsibility, and mental wellness activities support student well-being. Partnerships with Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) connect students to career pathways.

If you have any questions, contact each school by phone or email or call the Department of Student Services at (414) 475-8159.
