District Advisory Council

At Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), the District Advisory Council (DAC) ensures that parents of all students have an opportunity to share their ideas about the needs of children, assist in the planning and operation of Title I programs for children, and participate in evaluating the success of Title I efforts.

The DAC is a diverse group of families committed to lending their voices on current issues facing MPS. They meet monthly to learn about and advise on district strategies and programs impacting families, mainly related to Title I.

DAC Representatives

All school leaders must identify two delegates who are family members of students in their school to join the DAC. Families can serve as a delegates as long as their child(ren) attend MPS schools.

Additionally, schools may select up to two official alternates to serve. Alternate members are encouraged to attend all meetings and participate in discussions. However, they may only vote when one of the school's official delegates is absent.

To join the DAC as a delegate or an alternate, the relevant form must be completed, signed by your school principal, and sent to dac@milwaukee.k12.wi.us or dropped off at your child's school. When determining which family members serve for each school, the DAC recognizes the most recent representative forms submitted by the school leader.
