Weather Procedures

Heavy snow or other overnight severe weather that makes travel to school difficult has the potential to require Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) to close. When schools are closed for weather, the decision is communicated on the MPS website, MPS social media platforms, WYMS-FM (88.9) radio, and most major local television and radio news outlets. When MPS schools are closed prior to the start of the school day, all afternoon and evening recreation and interscholastic athletics/academics are also cancelled.
