MPS Student Job Board

Four-year college or university degrees are not the only option after high school and may not be the best fit for every student. However, we do encourage students to pursue some form of education after high school in order to have more career options. Postsecondary education might include two- or four-year degree programs, certificates/licenses, apprenticeships, training programs—even the military.

Advisors at MPS College and Career Centers can help students with all of these options. Please meet with a CACC advisor if you have any questions or are interested in learning more.

Youth Apprenticeship Program

Learning a trade and earning a paycheck are among the benefits of youth apprenticeships for MPS juniors and seniors. They spend half their day at their high school and half their day at their job.

Internships

Students who participate in an MPS internship are employed for a specific period to learn about a particular industry or occupation.

Public-Service Training Programs

If you are interested in working in public service, such as being a police officerfirefighter, or postal carrier, you should consider a public-service training program. This can be the first step to a career in one of these areas and a way to start earning a salary right out of high school.

Technical Diplomas or Certificate Programs

If you want to start working on your associate degree or are interested in a specific occupation, consider attending Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). They offer technical diplomas or certificates for jobs like appliance technician, audio engineer, bricklayer, dental assistant, digital forensics analyst, nursing assistant, and much more.
