Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) offers many different programs and services to support our students, whether they’re transitioning to high school, dealing with difficult life circumstances, or struggling academically or personally.
Programs
Freshman Bridge
This two-day program is designed to help incoming ninth graders prepare for a great first year of high school. You’ll learn how to get ready for the first day of class, settle in quickly, and find any support you need.
Home and Hospital Instruction Program
This program supports you if you’re residing in a hospital or at home for an extended period due to illness.
Homeless Education Program (HEP)
This program supports you—and your family—if you are experiencing homelessness. It ensures school stability, access to essential services, and much more.
Pregnant and Parenting Youth Program (PPYP)
For young fathers and mothers who are currently in school, this program aims to improve your academic achievement, social/emotional well-being, and overall wellness, as well as that of your child.
Success Center
This program supports students in grades K–12 whose behavioral challenges create a significant barrier to their success, happiness, and well-being at school.

School nurses provide essential services that support your health and well-being.
Psychological Services
School psychologists strengthen your home/school/community connection and help you succeed academically, behaviorally, emotionally, and socially.
School Counselors
School counselors support your academic achievement, personal and social development, and career success.
School Social Workers
School social workers also foster your well-being and academic achievement. Their expertise in mental health, social-emotional learning, and systems support allows them to address a wide range of issues that can affect you and your family.
