Transportation Zones

To qualify to ride a Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) bus, a student must have an address in the city of Milwaukee that is within their school’s transportation zone, which varies based on the school type.

The distance listed in each transportation zone below is the distance your student’s address must be within in order to be provided transportation. For example, a distance of “1–3 miles away” means a student's address must be at least one (1) mile from the school but no more than three (3) miles away. 

If you’re not sure if your student qualifies, please call an individual school and tell them your address to determine eligibility for busing. You can also use our online Transportation Zone Search tool:
